Jaeyong Kim
Jaeyong Kim is a Professor in the Physics Department and the Director of the Institute for High Pressure at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. His main research interests cover static and dynamic studies of materials under extreme conditions, including metal hydrides at high pressure aiming to discover high Tc superconductors. He has experience in sample synthesis, analysis of synchrotron-based X-ray diffraction structural data, and transport measurements at high pressure. He received his Ph.D. degree from Washington University, St. Louis, USA (1999), and subsequently served as a Research Associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory (2003) and a Senior Researcher at Pohang Light Source in Korea (2005). He chaired the 10th Asian Conference on High Pressure Research (ACHPR-10) in 2021. He was elected as a Member of the AIRAPT Executive Committee in 2023. Email: kimjy@hanyang.ac.kr
