[20131001] Post-Doctoral Fellow Position, IMPMC Paris, France

Post-Doctoral Fellow Position at the University Pierre et Marie Curie at Paris (France) - Molecular ices at extreme conditions

The « Institut de Minéralogie et de Physique des Milieux Condensés » (IMPMC, Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France) seeks applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of high pressure physics. The candidate is expected to carry out experimental research work on molecular ices under extreme pressure and temperature conditions. This position is open to candidates with a strong background in high pressure techniques (DAC and/or Paris-Edinburgh presses) and familiarity with standard “in situ” analysis (optical spectroscopies, x-ray/neutron diffraction).  Experiences in laser heating techniques and resistivity measurements under pressure are also desirable. A PhD in physics, materials science or Earth sciences is required.

The initial appointment will be for 12 months, with possibility for a second year depending on progress. The position is open until 1st October 2013.

Qualified candidates should send their application materials (including a CV, a list of publications and references – 2-3 pages) to Sandra Ninet: sandra.ninet@impmc.upmc.fr
