Stefan Klotz: Stefan KlotzStefan Klotz

Dr Stefan Klotz was born in 1961 in Germany and studied Physics at the University of Munich (Germany), the University of Grenoble (France), and Washington University at St. Louis (USA), followed by a postdoctoral research position in J. M. Besson’s high pressure group at the University P&M Curie in Paris. He then served as Assistant and Associate Professor of Physics in the same university from 1996 on, and became Senior Professor in 2007. Since 2005 he is Head of the High Pressure Physics Group of the Institute of Mineralogy and Condensed Matter Physics (IMPMC) in this University. Dr Klotz is Editor-in-Chief of the international journal High Pressure Research since 2001 and is involved in a number of national and international organizations such as the European High Pressure Research group (EHPRG), where he was Secretary (2009-2012) and Chairman (2012-2015), and the AIRAPT Executive Committee since 2008, as an ex officio member. His research covers structural and dynamical properties of simple molecular systems probed by neutron scattering. For these achievements he received the EHPRG Award in 1996. He is author of more than 100 papers and reviews in the field of high pressure physics and technology, and has been invited to at least 60 conferences worldwide. E-mail: Stefan.Klotz@impmc.jussieu.fr
