MR04: Earth Materials Under Compression: Advances in Experimental and Numerical Methods

Dynamics of the deep Earth is intricately controlled by the properties of the Earth materials under compression. Material properties such as elasticity, anelasticity, rheology and transport properties at high pressures and temperatures are crucial to interpret geophysical observables. Considerable advances are being made using in situ high pressure experiments and computational methods, providing complementary insights relating the structure and properties of Earth Materials. In this session, we solicit contributions that enhance our understanding of such materials at pressures and temperatures relevant to Earth's interior. We welcome both experimental and computational contributions.
