Post Doctoral Research Fellowship on X-ray Diffraction of Amorphous Materials

The Fluids Research Laboratory at St. Francis Xavier University has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow starting in 2014 or early 2015. The PDF will work with Prof. Alan Anderson and collaborating scientists at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory to directly probe the physical and chemical properties of metal-bearing silicate liquids and glasses under conditions of high pressure and temperature. Experience using x-rays diffraction to investigate amorphous materials will be an asset.

Candidates must have received a PhD in Geochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical, Experimental or Mineral Physics within the past four years. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists. Attendance at scientific meetings and establishing a record of publications is expected. This is a limited term employment position with a one- or two-year appointment. Candidates should submit a detailed CV, contact information of three references, and a research statement. Evaluation of candidates will commence immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
