[20131200] PhD and Postdoctoral positions at the Laboratory of Crystallography of the University of Bayreuth, Germany

The research group of Materials Physics and Technology at Extreme Conditions offers PhD and/or postdoctoral positions. The research topics are related to the high pressure physics, chemistry, and materials sciences and cover a broad field of investigations of materials behavior at extreme conditions.

The successful candidates will be involved in the synthesis of novel materials and their investigations using large-volume-press (LVP) and diamond anvil cell (DAC) techniques, as well as the development and testing of new high-pressure scientific devices.  Experimental work will be conducted using both in house and synchrotron radiation facilities. In particular, one of the projects supposes the development of the IR- and THz- spectroscopy at high-pressures and variable temperatures at ANKA synchrotron (http://www.kit.edu/forschen/1305.php).

Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, list of publications, statement of research interests (for postdocs), copies of diplomas, and contact information of two references. For further information or to submit an application, please contact: Natalia.Dubrovinskaia@uni-bayreuth.de

Applications will be considered until the positions are filled.
