Postdoctoral Associate Position in High-Pressure Superconductivity
Geophysical Laboratory, Carnegie Institution of Washington, USA

The Energy Frontier Research in Extreme Environments (Efree) Center, at the Geophysical Laboratory (GL) of Carnegie Institution of Washington ( https://efree.gl.ciw.edu ), seeks applications for a postdoctoral associate position in the field of superconductivity. The EFree Center at GL has a strong program in the study of superconductivity at high pressures by using in-house facilities as well as national synchrotron and neutron sources.

Minimum qualifications:  A PhD in condensed matter physics with an excellent publication record in the research field of superconductivity or in strongly correlated electron systems.

Desired qualifications:  The candidate should have proven experience in the synthesis and characterization of superconducting materials and in measurements of transport and magnetic properties. Previous experience in high-pressure studies, organic superconductors, and high-Tc materials would be considered a strong advantage but is not required.  The successful candidate is expected to be able to work independently in pursuit of his/her own, clear scientific agenda.

To submit an application online.  Only complete applications submitted via the Geophysical Laboratory website will be considered.
