[20120307] EMPG XIV meeting, Kiel, Germany

Session 11 of the EMPG XIV meeting (March 4-7 in Kiel, Germany, http://www.empg2012.uni-kiel.de) will be devoted to computational mineralogy and geochemistry.

For this session we invite contributions that use atomistic simulations to improve our understanding of mineralogical, petrological, geochemical and geophysical processes. Such methods have been applied to different environments of the Earth, ranging from aqueous solutions to high pressures and temperatures of the planetary interior. Contributions that supplement and/or help to understand experimental observations, or address aspects of geochemistry that are currently not accessible in experiments are particularly welcome.
