[20111000] Postdoc position at Institut de Physique du Globe, Paris, France

The Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the field of high pressure and high temperature experimentation.

Candidates should have a Ph.D, preferably in Earth Sciences. They should have solid experience in high-pressure experimentation, either with the laser-heated diamond-anvil cell, or the piston-cylinder and multi-anvil presses. A background in experimental petrology, mineral physics, or experimental geophysics and geochemistry is a definite plus. Experience with analytical techniques such as the electron microprobe, SIMS, FIB/SEM, LA-ICPMS are an advantage.

The fellowship is funded by the European Research Council. The appointment is for two years, renewable. Compensation package is very attractive, and based on experience. The position is available in October 2011 and will remain open until filled.
