Macquarie University and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) have created this exciting collaborative opportunity for a research associate to work with staff at the Bragg Institute and Macquarie. The goal is to develop complementary high pressure, large-volume experimental facilities at both the Australian Synchrotron and the OPAL research. We are looking for a research associate (Lecturer, Level B) with expertise in high-pressure experimental studies to work on Earth materials under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions and to participate in core and collaborative research with the ANSTO neutron scattering and Australian Synchrotron facilities.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and self-directed individual. Experience with high-pressure experimental techniques is required and experience in deformation studies, x-ray or neutron diffraction, and crystallography, are all highly desirable. A PhD in Geoscience, Materials Science, Solid State Chemistry, Physics or related field from an accredited college or university is required. The candidate is expected to publish his/her research results and present at scientific conferences.

Package: Level B from $79,223 - $93,945 pa, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
