[20111209] 2011 AGU Fall meeting session. MR05: Elasticity of Deep Earth's Materials: New Frontiers for High-Pressure Mineral Physics

We cordially invite you to contribute to session MR05: "Elasticity of Deep Earth's Materials: New Frontiers for High-Pressure Mineral Physics" at next Fall AGU Meeting, San Francisco, 5-9 December 2011.

Description:
Experimental and theoretical work on the elastic properties of mantle and core materials provide one of the most stringent constraints on current models of composition, structure and dynamics of deep Earth's interior. High-pressure and high-temperature data from a wide range of techniques and new computations continuously challenge our view of deep mantle and core materials under extreme thermodynamic conditions. Here, we solicit contributions on recent progress in experimental, computational, and observational studies that will enhance our understanding on the elastic properties of deep Earth's materials. We aim at promoting a multidisciplinary discussion on the nature of the mantle and core.

Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is 04 August 2011.
